Nestled in historic downtown Prairie City (Eastern Oregon), at the foot of the Strawberry Mountain Wilderness, is our cool little shop offering antique American hardware pieces that have been salvaged and restored.
Our storefront is located in the historic Kirchheiner Building erected in about 1901. We are now on Winter Hours and so are randomly open, or by appointment. We would love for you to come see us and so please feel free to contact us!
In the mean meantime, visit our On-Line Shop below...
Reclaiming, restoring and re-homing these beautiful pieces of the past is our mission and our passion.
We offer a variety of old door hardware stuff like push plates, wall hooks, drawer pulls, book jacks & scrapers, hinges and knickknacks...
but our primary focus is restoring and offering door knobs and handles!
In our shop you will also find the Worlds Largest offering (really!) of unique original American Antique Dummy Door Knobs. These pieces range from the flowing Victorian cast bronze and iron of the 1860s, to the more "modern" steel and glass of the 1940s.
These original dummy knob assemblies (fixed door pulls) are great for use on french, barn, pantry, closet and other doors.
They are also great as curtain tie-backs, coat or towel hooks, and awesome wall art.
Guaranteed for life, plan on using these old American pieces of craftsmanship for another 100+ years!
At Knobs & Handles, we also provide design, sourcing, and hardware restoration services. We also create barnwood-mounted wall art, as well as coat and pet leash hooks created from antique American hardware.
If you have old hardware questions, just shoot us a note and check our Blog out below for articles and updates!
Recycling old hardware, keeping them from the landfill and reducing our human footprint...this is what we do.
